Chief of Navy, Vice Admiral Russ Crane AO, CSM, RAN and Chief of Navy Operations, Admiral Gary Roughhead, USN made formal presentations of two United States Navy Unit Commendations to past members of Royal Australian Navy Clearance Diving Team 3 for service in Vietnam. The Vietnam Veterans have waited many years to have the commendation awarded to recognise their service to Australia in the Vietnam War alongside their American compatriots. The ceremony took place at HMAS Waterhen, Sydney.
