RANCDA Reunion 2021 – NSW/ACT
15/09/2021 - 19/09/2021
RANCDA Reunion 2021 Warning Order !
As publicised at the 2019 reunion, 2021 will be in Canberra for the 70th Anniversary of the founding the the Branch.
No – bookings are not open yet, but this information is to get you thinking about travel and blocking out some time in the calendar. The reunion covers the period 15-19 September. Any questions, send me a message.
We are recommending the Abode Hotel in Woden ACT as the accommodation, as most of the visits/activities are southside. Don’t book there yet as we are still getting a best “deal” from them. There are a couple of other accommodation places in the Woden town centre.
The current draft schedule is attached with all the side-visits.
The 3 main functions to note are:
• Thu 16 Sep. War Memorial tour followed by Last Post Ceremony 1645-1705 (where one of our senior serving MCDOs will be doing the reading).
• Thu 16 Sep. Reunion dinner at the Hellenic Club in Woden from 1900-midnight. This is just 200 metres from the recommended accommodation. This will be the biggie, we have space for 300 !
• Fri 17 Sep. Governor General reception for the RANCDA at Government House Canberra 1700-1830.
There will be some side-visits to Sydney at the end for those who want to visit the MCD Group, AUSCDT1 and the ADF Dive School on Sunday 19 Sep. We will arrange bus travel from Canberra to Sydney on Saturday for those who need it, and then at the end of the ADF Dive School on Sunday, bus travel to Sydney airport, Canberra airport or back to the reunion accommodation in Canberra.
If you are planning on flying to the reunion and want to do the whole program, we suggest you plan to fly into Canberra and out of Sydney.
